Core Days
This classic Red Sea North dive route centres on the historic wrecks of the Gubal Strait. The SS Thistlegorm is the region's most famous wreck, a WWII cargo vessel lying upright at 32 metres, allowing divers to penetrate and view its cargo of military equipment. The nearby Rosalie Moeller provides another deep dive experience on a sunken coal carrier. We also explore the Dunraven, which rests near the large reef system of Shaab Mahmoud.
The Red Sea Aggressor II dedicates time to the Abu Nuhas reef, known for its numerous accessible wrecks. The Giannis D and the Carnatic are highlights, overgrown with hard and soft corals and providing shelter for thousands of glassfish. For purely reef-focused dives, we visit sites like Shaab el Erg, Siyul Kebira, and Shag Rock, which feature vibrant coral gardens and are often frequented by schooling reef fish.
The final leg covers the spectacular reef systems of the Sinai coast. Ras Mohamed offers exhilarating dives on the walls of Shark Reef and Yolanda Reef. These sites benefit from strong currents, attracting large schools of pelagics and fostering rich coral ecosystems. Furthermore, the Red Sea Aggressor II explores the Straits of Tiran, diving the four famous reefs (Jackson, Woodhouse, Thomas, Gordon), where the currents increase the likelihood of encountering various shark species and large fish. This comprehensive route aboard the Red Sea Aggressor II provides a fantastic blend of history and marine adventure.

Day 8
Disembarkation will occur at Hurghada Marina following a final breakfast on the Red Sea Aggressor II liveaboard.

Core Days
This signature Red Sea Aggressor II route provides an in-depth exploration of the Northern Red Sea's most famous dive sites, blending spectacular wrecks with world-class reef formations. We begin by focusing on the rich history submerged in the Gubal Strait. The legendary SS Thistlegorm, a WWII freighter sunk in 1941, offers an incredible penetration dive, showcasing its perfectly preserved cargo of vehicles and military equipment. Nearby, the Dunraven wreck and the reef system around Shag Rock also feature unique diving opportunities, contrasting wreck history with vibrant coral life.
The tour progresses to the dynamic Tiran Straits, where 4 sentinel reefs - Jackson, Woodhouse, Thomas, and Gordon - create a natural bottleneck for currents, attracting pelagic action. These deep walls are rich with soft corals and are prime locations for viewing large schools of barracuda, jacks, and various shark species. The vessel will also visit the Ras Mohamed National Park, where the coupling of Shark Reef and Yolanda Reef guarantees thrilling drift dives over spectacular coral gardens.
For a uniquely Egyptian experience, the Red Sea Aggressor II provides access to the Dahab area. Here, advanced divers can explore the geological marvels of the Blue Hole and The Bells, followed by the impressive canyon structure of The Canyon and the beautiful Gabr El Bint reef. We also include the widespread Shaab el Erg reef system, known for its friendly resident dolphins, and the vibrant coral reefs around Giftun Island, completing a truly diverse diving experience on the Red Sea Aggressor II.

Day 8
After a final breakfast on board, check-out and disembarkation will commence at Hurghada Marina.

Dive sites and activities: El Mina wreck, Salem Express, Khafain wreck, Shaab Sheer, Abu Nuhas wrecks (Chrisoula, Giannis D, Kimon M, Carnatic), Dunraven, SS Thistlegorm, Kingston, Shaab Mahmoud, Ulysses, Rosalie Moeller

Day 1
This ultimate wreck diving expedition on the Red Sea Aggressor II liveaboard begins upon boarding at Hurghada Marina. After settling into your cabin and receiving a warm crew welcome, you will participate in a detailed safety briefing. Enjoy your first dinner aboard before preparing for the legendary dives ahead.

Core Days
The core focus is the Gubal Strait, home to some of the world's most atmospheric dive sites. The SS Thistlegorm is the undisputed star, a massive British WWII freighter resting upright, its open holds still revealing a historic cargo of motorcycles, trucks, and ammunition. The nearby Rosalie Moeller, a deeper-lying coal carrier, suffered the same fate days later, offering an advanced dive into history. The wrecks of the Ulysses and the Dunraven complete this northern historic circuit, presenting varied wreck interaction.
The Red Sea Aggressor II then calls at Abu Nuhas, the 'ship graveyard', which features 4 easily accessible wrecks: the Giannis D, the Carnatic, the Chrisoula K, and the Kimon M. These vessels lie on a gently sloping seabed, now utterly transformed by hard and soft corals, providing incredible opportunities for illumination and photography as shoals of glassfish hover within the interior structures.
The trip is further enhanced with challenging technical dives on the El Mina wreck and the shallow wreck of the Kingston. Southward explorations include the vast submerged remains of the Salem Express and the remote Khafain wreck. Supporting reef dives at Shaab Mahmoud and Shaab Sheer showcase the Red Sea's dynamic coral health and reef life, completing a thorough survey of the region’s best diveable history aboard the Red Sea Aggressor II.
Following a final 2 dives, the Red Sea Aggressor II returns to port.

Day 8
Disembarkation commences in Hurghada after breakfast on the final morning.

[Information is best estimate in ideal circumstances and subject to changes beyond our control. The itinerary is a guide only and may be adapted to best suit the weather, tides, currents, availability and other prevailing events. Price is for the cruise, not for an exact number of dives].

Start the day with a breakfast of cereal, juice, fresh fruits and hot entrees. The 1st dive follows soon after breakfast, followed by a snack and then the 2nd dive. A buffet style lunch gives you a chance to chat about the morning marine encounters. Soups, salads and pasta or rice dishes are common lunch items. The menu provides a mix of local and international cuisine, all enjoyed in the air-conditioned restaurant on the main deck. After some downtime after lunch, it will soon be time for the 3rd and then 4th dives. Normally dinner means the end of the day's diving, so as you sample local dishes like babaganoush, foul beans and hummus, you can wash it down with a glass of wine or beer.
Customer rating - Very good
"The itinerary was well chosen, a good mix of reef, wrecks and deep dives. Food was excellent and in generous quantities and having alcoholic beverages available was just a cool unexpected pleasure. Briefings were complete and informative. Mu husband and I both did a course onboard and got a discount, really much appreciated.
I just found some very polemic discussion topics [sexist attitudes] raised by some of the crew.
